🌴 Life Lately: An Honest Update from Cayman Brac

Updated: Jun 9

Hey friends, it’s been a while! If you’re new here — welcome! I’m Kellz, an occupational therapist, perinatal yoga teacher, pre/postnatal fitness specialist, and Mama to my energetic, beach-loving toddler, Lani. I help women reconnect with their bodies through movement, breath, and practical support that fits into real-life motherhood. Well, at the moment, that is on pause, which I will talk more about. It’s been quiet on the blog for a minute, but that’s because life has been anything but quiet behind the scenes.

🌊 The Big Move

Last year, I relocated from the U.S. to Cayman Brac, a small but beautiful island where everything — literally everything — is imported. Groceries are expensive, convenience is rare, and even something like replacing a flat tire meant waiting for parts to arrive by boat from Grand Cayman.

Let’s just say, I’ve been building resilience on a whole new level. 😅

After buying my island car (which gave me issues from day two), passing my Cayman Islands driving test (barely — I was this close to failing), and adjusting to the slower pace of island life, I’m finally beginning to feel a little more grounded.

👧🏽 Lani’s Loving It

My daughter Lani, on the other hand, is absolutely thriving. Her daycare is full of fun: Monday library visits, swimming on Tuesdays, football on Wednesdays, and track on Fridays. She loves being so close to the beach and asks to swim every single day — and honestly, I don’t blame her.

💛 Work That Matters

I currently work at a center for adults with special needs, and it’s been one of the most meaningful chapters of my career. We offer vocational training, OT sessions, life skills coaching, swimming, and more — and the impact on our clients has been incredible.

I actually paused my business to take on this adventure, and I’m grateful I did. But being away from it has made something crystal clear:

🧘🏽‍♀️ I Miss My Mamas

Helping women feel strong, empowered, and at peace in their bodies — especially in the prenatal and postpartum seasons — is my true passion. I miss holding space for mamas, coaching them through movement, and celebrating the messy, magical transitions of motherhood.

So, slowly but surely, I’m coming back to it. This summer and fall, I’ll begin taking on clients on the side — offering virtual coaching, movement support, and pelvic wellness guidance — while I continue working here in Cayman. When the time comes for me to return to the States, I hope to fully transition back into my business.

💛More updates, movement tips, and mama support posts are on the way — and I’m so glad to be back.

With love,
