What am I doing?

I ask that question to myself a couple of times a day and even more lately. I'm an Occupational Therapist and Certified Yoga Instructor. What is an Occupational Therapist? Well that's another post for another day. I've wanted to start my own business for years and always had excuses not to. Yes my time was limited and I didn't have extra money to spend on it and no I didn't know where to start, but I could have begun somewhere. Fast forward to this year, COVID hit. With job security, not so secure and with extra time on my hands, I knew it was time to start my business, but what was I doing? Would it be an OT business? Should it be a yoga business? I was doing Tele-Therapy before Covid, so should it be a Teletherapy business? I decided why not create a business that did all of the above? So here I am. I find myself going back and forth about what services to offer and who to serve. All the articles business coaches and podcasts talk about finding your "ideal client" and marketing to them. I have many ideal clients! I want to help that parent who needs help with their child who may have a disability or trouble learning. I want to help the adult that is recovering from a stroke or has chronic pain. I want to help people of color who think yoga is not for them or haven't realized the importance of mindfulness. I want to help those who would benefit from any of the above but can't afford it. I know its a lot, but that's how I want to leave my imprint. So here we are again.... me asking myself, what am I doing? I have filed my paperwork with the help of a friend and I'm officially incorporated! I have made my business name and logo! I'm writing this blog post as I figure out my website and the services I will offer. I'm popping my cherry with a blog, a business and creating a website on my own for the first time. Am I ambitious or crazy? We will know one day. Ask yourself what am I doing, and do it anyway....
